UTTERING WORDS
In conjunction with an arts tv program: Artist-in- residence,
this site specific work is installed in Singaporean Poet Cyril Wong's apartment.
Lilies, bells, thread and time. Size variable. (2012)
The work is inspired by local poet Cyril Wong's poems in which many of his writing explored the mundane life on life and death; love and despair which often, suggest the sense of ephemeral towards the thing in life as well as the emotions that people have. Therefore, lilies were chosen based on it's symbolic meaning as well as the elements of life and death through the process of wilting. In the mean time, it also suggest a closure of an event, be it a life event or emotions as well. Bells were installed to enhance the element of time as well and when the wind blows, the bell will starts to ring and stop when the wind is gone.
